This 1984 PBS documentary examines the career of Afro-American composer William Grant Still (1895-1978). It includes excerpts from concert performances of Still's music, as well as interviews with Still's daughter Judith, Harvard historian Eileen Southern, conductor László Hálasz, and others. Also included are excerpts from radio interviews by Still and his wife, Verna Arvey.
