The Masai live along the Rift Valley near the Kenya-Tanzania border. They keep large amounts of cattle, for whom they have great respect, and the men have many wives, who they also see as a form of wealth.
Ephemera: available through CCDR Collections at Arizona State University. 2 small pieces of paper with program description and photo. Handwritten notes on original folder: 1 hour. Young girls serve young men. Initiated to womanhood. New bride. Children. When son marries, leaves husband & lives with adult son. Men respectful and loving toward their mothers. Trance of warriors . Ceremony & procession of warriors. Fabulous. Eo ototo. Transforms warriors to elders.
