A profile of West Coast native artist Joe David who has become one of the strong contemporary links in the preservation and re-invention of the art of the Northwest Coast. The film follows the creative process of carving a wolf headdress from a block of cedar to its ultimate use as a ceremonial mask worn by the artist himself in a haunting dance which ends the film.
